Robert Martinez

Roberto Martínez was born on July 13, 1973, in Balaguer, Catalonia, Spain. A former professional midfielder, he began his coaching career at Swansea City in 2007 before leading Wigan Athletic to a historic 2013 FA Cup victory against Manchester City. He then managed Everton, guiding them to their highest ever Premier League points tally and a fifth-place finish.
In 2016 he took charge of the Belgium national team, achieving a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup and reaching the FIFA number one ranking. Since January 2023 he has served as head coach of Portugal, winning the 2025 UEFA Nations League title against Spain. He is widely regarded as one of the most tactically sophisticated Spanish managers in world football.
